Quioccasin Veterinary Hospital is a small animal practice where our goal is to show the passion we have for the symbiotic relationship between animals and people. We realize that it is those relationships that create a pure and unconditional love that lets us know we are doing something wonderful for you and your pet. Our staff has a commitment to each other as well as to you and your pet.

Hospital

At Quioccasin Veterinary Hospital our goal is to practice the highest quality medicine with compassion and an emphasis on client education. Our entire healthcare team is committed to providing personal attention to the unique concerns of each individual pet owner.

Hospital Lobby

Our hospital lobby was designed with comfort, style, and function in mind. Upon entering our spacious lobby, one of our friendly patient care coordinators will be happy to assist you with appointments, scheduling, and transactions. We know your time is valuable, and we aim to expedite check-in and check-out in an efficient manner.

Treatment area

Our hospital utilizes this valuable area to assess your pet’s needs. Animals entering our hospitals for the day are triaged through by one of our caring knowledgeable technicians. Minor treatments, lab work, preoperative exams, and electrocardiograms are just a few of the routine procedures preformed here. Daily round meetings also take place with our doctors and staff to discuss daily surgeries, new protocols and procedures, and educational updates. Critical care cases are also monitored throughout the day. Our appointment patients are brought to this area to begin their overall physical examination. Teamwork is an important value to our hospital. Our technicians work closely with the doctors to create a treatment plan designed especially for your pet.

Lab

Our in-house laboratory facility provides the most up to date technologies for evaluation of blood or urine samples as well as detection of intestinal parasites. Our hospital follows the standards and quality controls accepted by accredited laboratories. Our in house laboratory testing allows for quick and efficient results for complete evaluation of your pet’s health.

Surgery

At Quioccasin Veterinary Hospital, we follow the latest and most advanced anesthetic, pain management, and surgical protocols. Prior to your pet’s surgery, a pre-operative exam, blood work, and electrocardiogram are performed. Our surgery suite is a separate and sterile environment encompassing the latest and safest technological advancements for veterinary surgery. Monitoring of your pet’s vital signs is performed continuously throughout surgery and extends to a quite, heated recovery area.

Dental

Our hospital offers a variety of dental services including teeth cleaning and polishing, fluoride treatment, and any extractions or minor oral surgery as indicated. Our dental technicians are extensively trained and continue their education yearly on new techniques for dental cleanings. Our hospital offers pre-surgical blood work for any patient undergoing anesthesia, as well as, providing pain management for extractions. Our hospital utilizes a digital dental radiography unit. This state of the art technology allows for the proper diagnosis of dental disease in our patients, as we are now able to enlarge and manipulate images.

Radiology

Our hospital utilizes a computed radiography machine. Instead of using traditional x-ray film and chemicals, the image we take is stored on a computer. Software allows us to manipulate the image to enhance viewing. This is another technological asset that Quioccasin offers to better assist the doctors at correctly and accurately diagnosing your pet’s needs.

Endoscopy

The endoscope is a long flexible camera that can be used to view the intestinal tract. With this technology, biopsies of the intestinal tract can be taken and small foreign bodies from the stomach can be removed. This has been an extremely valuable addition to our list of state of the art diagnostic and treatment options and helps us to accomplish our goal of providing advanced compassionate care for your pets.

Ultrasound

We strive to provide state-of-the-art diagnostics with the least amount of invasiveness and discomfort to your pet. The ultrasound allows us to do this by giving a more detailed look at your pet's internal organs. Biopsies can also be taken with ultrasound guidance. Many times, without ultrasound, surgery would be needed to obtain the same information that the ultrasound provides. The technology has proven to be an incredible asset for an accurate diagnosis.

Boarding Facility

Our hospital provides both dog and cat boarding as a service to our clients. The boarding area provides the ideal facility for our senior patients. Our caring staff individually assesses your pet’s needs and is able to give them rubber padded mats for patients with arthritis, comfy plush pads for others, or more walks for those pets that need to use the bathroom frequently. All boarding pets must be up to date on their yearly exam and vaccines.

Our spacious dog runs accommodate all sizes. Each boarding dog is walked individually three times a day in our fenced-in yard by one of our trained and compassionate assistants.

Our cat boarding patients have their own luxurious condo area and are taken care of periodically throughout the day by our assistants. The feline boarding room also has a large window that allows afternoon sunlight in as well as allowing your pet to enjoy the outdoor views.

Read What Our Clients Say

  • "Dr. Evans was so patient and kind with our kitty "Cookie". Very caring and so helpful and answered many questions for me concerning her health. The office staff are kind, caring, and professional. The office is immaculate. I have never been to a vet where my pets and myself were treated so well. Love it and so glad to have found them. Best vet appointment ever!"

  • "We have used the Q for over 15 years for our cats and our dogs. Dr. Mortimer is a genius at diagnosing and treating a wide array of issues, and we have relied on his skills to help our animals live to amazing ages. The staff is incredibly caring. They do everything possible to help when we call or come in with a sick animal. They truly care for our pets, and many of the staff will come out from the back to pet our dogs
when they come in. They are so patient with shy animals like our ferally cat Stasha who needed laser treatments, and our Bagle Topsy who is afraid of her own shadow.Yes, they are not the cheapest vet in town, but they work with us on making a treatment plan we can afford, and we feel that the value and the care are well worth it. Thank you to everyone at the Q for their dedication and loving care."

  • "Met with Dr. Hiser today for the first time. Everyone at the
clinic--from the desk staff to the vet techs to the veterinarian were warm and welcoming. My dog Iris--who is often nervous around new people--was comfortable there and (I think) made a few new friends. Looking forward to a continued relationship with the clinic as my sweet girl grows up. Thanks, thanks thanks."

  • "My three chihuahuas have been Dr. Mortimer's patients for over nine years. The expertise, love, and care demonstrated for each pet is extraordinary. The doctors and staff go the extra mile to help their patients and the parents. They are truly an amazing group that love and care for each pet. If there was a review rated outstanding, that would have been my choice!"

  • "I would highly recommended QVH. All of the staff are so kind and compassionate. They are so willing to help and never mind answering any questions you may have, even if it's 100 questions they are so patient. They genuinely care and treat your pets as if they were their own. And I cannot say enough about Dr. Hiser. She is amazing. Even on her days off she would still call and check in on my dog. I am so appreciative of this place and the staff. It's a great feeling to be completely comfortable with putting your pets care in someone's else hands and trusting them to provide the best service."

  • "I have been seeing Dr. Evans for at least 20 years. Her manner, knowledge, staff and facility are exceptional. I am a health care provider myself and hold the care of my pets to the highest standards....and I have never had a second thought about the care or recommendations of Dr. Evans. I moved out of town 6 years ago....and drive 3 hours each way to see her."
    Kimberley W. / April 2, 2018
  • "Wouldn't trust my four-legged Kids to anyone else - they have guided us with all our dogs through the years. The entire staff is kind and patient with the animals (and their parents)."
