Dr. Yvette Burke

Dr. Burke earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University in 2002 after completing her Masters of Science while investigating treatments for human pancreatic cancer. She has completed post graduate training in veterinary chiropractic therapy, acupuncture, and veterinary rehabilitation medicine. Dr. Burke’s professional interests include evidence-based medicine, balanced alternative medicine, dermatology, and feline medicine. Currently, Dr. Burke has been pursuing her Master of Veterinary Public Health and certificate in epidemiology to further her knowledge in population health, health disparities, and infectious disease control.

Outside the hospital, Dr. Burke is a Canine Search and Rescue Member for the Commonwealth of Virginia. She spends her time training her new search puppy in preparation for helping find lost people. Dr. Burke and her husband are also renovating their home including adding conservation friendly landscaping. Currently, Dr. Burke is loved by three dogs and one cat.
